GREAT BARRIER REEF INFO 

Its known all around the world and is one of Australia's most precious jewels, it's the Great Barrier Reef. Its one of the worlds largest coral reefs and contains an amazing range of marine life and also comprises of over 3000 separate reef systems. The Great Barrier reef is one of the seven wonders of the world and is larger than the great wall of china and is the only living thing on earth visible from space.

This reef structure is composed of and built by billions of tiny organisms, known as coral polyps.
A large part of the reef is protected by the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park, which helps to limit the impact of human use, such as fishing and tourism.

A closer encounter with the Great Barrier Reef's impressive coral gardens reveals many astounding underwater attractions including the world's largest collection of corals (in fact, more than 400 different kinds of coral), coral sponges, molluscs, rays, dolphins, over 1500 species of tropical fish, more than 200 types of birds, around 20 types of reptiles including sea turtles and giant clams over 120 years old.
