3 Day Kakadu Tour
Overview
Explore the wilderness of Kakadu National Park on a 3 day Kakadu tour adventure! You'll see all the main attractions such as Jim Jim falls, Twin Falls and Ubirr Rock. Combine small groups, great walks and 4wds, this is a great Kakadu tour for those looking for a bit of excitement and adventure!
Itinerary
Day 1
- We start our Kakadu tour by heading straight for a wildlife cruise with crocodiles and bird watching. Fantastic photo opportunities.
- Then we commence the drive toward Kakadu National Park.
- Breaking up the drive we lunch by the East Alligator River.
- The East Alligator region. Here we can have a picnic lunch on the rivers bank (not too close!) with the opportunity to spot some crocs and flying foxes.
- Then on to the world famous Ubirr Rock in the north of the park. Ancient rock art and staggering 360º views over the Nardab floodplain.
- Dinner and camping under the stars in the heart of Kakadu. (L,D)
Day 2:
- After breakfast we do some 4 Wheel driving to Twin Falls. From here we take the escarpment walk to the top of the falls for a swim in the crystal clear pools away from the crowds.
- Then we’ll find a shady spot by Jim Jim Creek for some lunch.
- A short climb up Budjimi Lookout will reward you with spectacular views of the ancient Arnhemland escarpment.
- After lunch, a 1km walk through monsoonal vine forest to the base of Jim Jim Falls for a relaxing afternoon swimming in the plunge pool and resting on the beach.
- Tonight we camp at Garnamarr, at the base of the escarpment. Tonight we replenish ourselves with the Great Aussie BBQ including a taste plate of
- Crocodile, Buffalo and Kangaroo.
- Showers and toilets available. (B,L,D)
Day 3:
- An early start as we head to the Warradjan Cultural Centre to learn more about the local Aboriginal people of Kakadu.
- We then make our way to Barramundi Gorge (Maguk) for a 1km walk through towering paperbarks and crystal clear waters for a refreshing swim in the plunge pool.
- Heading home after a fantastic tour along the old Jim Jim road stopping of at White Lily billabong for our last look at Kakadu and a stretch of the legs.
- We return to Darwin approximately 6.30pm ending our Kakadu tour. (B,L)

December to April Itinerary - Price $495
Day 1 - Kakadu
- Pick up at 7am from accommodation.
- Head to the Adelaide River for our Jumping Crocodile cruise.
- Nourlangie Rock (Rock Art and Views)
- Swim at Ikoymarrwa (Moline Rockhole) special permit access.
- Camp at Mary River Roadhouse.
- Showers and toilet facilities (L,D)
Day 2 - Kakadu
- Early to rise for a big day
- Explore the Yurmikmik region for a full day of walking and Swimming
- Cascading Falls of Boulder Creek
- Motor Car Falls
- Kurrundi Falls
- Gunlom Falls (when accessible)
- Camp Mary River Roadhouse - Aussie BBQ with a taste plate of croc, Buffalo and kangaroo.
- Showers and toilet facilities (B,L,D)
Day 3 - Litchfield
- Up early again to head to Litchfield National Park
- Wangi Falls
- Florence Falls for a cool swim
- Tolmer Falls
- Buley Rockhole’s
- Giant Termite mounds
- Return to Darwin approximately 6.30pm (B,L)
Accommodation for the 3 day Kakadu/Litchfield will continue to be camping until the monsoons begin, early December, where they will then stay at
Mary River Roadhouse. This is air conditioned dorm-share accommodation with upgrades available. Dorm and camping fees are all inclusive.

FOOD:
Our emphasis is on fresh food wherever possible and our meals are nutritious and varied on this 3 day Kakadu tour. If you are vegetarian or gluten intolerant we can cater for you, but if you have very specific dietary needs you may need to provide your own food, please discuss this at time of booking. For breakfast we supply cereals, toast, tea and coffee. Lunch is usually a self-serve sandwich and salads; in the evening we have a cooked dinner. We always carry water in the vehicle and you will often have the chance to buy your own drinks, ice-creams etc at stops. Please refer to each individual tour/package to establish which meals are included.
DO I NEED TO BRING MONEY?
Visitors are advise to bring some cash as ATMs and banks can be few and far between on this Kakadu tour.
WHAT ABOUT TRAVEL INSURANCE
Insurance is important in protecting visitors from loss or damange of goods, medical problems or other casualties. Its highly recommended and can be organized through your travel agent.
WHAT ABOUT MY FITNESS?
A moderate degree of fitness and agility level is required.

Yes! By not calling your tour operator and confirming your Kakadu tour may result in the cancellation of your booking! Call your tour operator before 4pm the day prior to travel with the name of your accommodation and room number.
